There are many morphs of P. regis, but that just means their care is the same. Jumping spiders (generally the Phidippus) are widely regarded as the best beginner spiders and often serve as a foot in the door for those with arachnophobia due to their big primary eyes and mating dances. Hyllus are a bit more difficult to care for as they are far shyer and tend to require bioactive enclosures (though, we've gotten away with just a moister enclosure). Jumping spiders, unfortunately, have shorter life spans much like mantis. They live to 1.5 to 2 years with females living longer than males.
